Event Branding Inspired by the Slow Food Movement

Brief description:
GastroZBor is a gastronomic event held in Zlatibor, dedicated to promoting authentic food and artisanal products of the region. Organized by the Western Serbia and Zlatibor Tourism Organizations, it is inspired by the philosophy of the Slow Food movement and supported through the international SREST project.
My role included creating the complete visual identity, designing promotional and functional materials, and coordinating the graphic implementation during the event.

Visual Inspiration & Concept

Green: a deep forest green, evokes the dense pine woods of Zlatibor and symbolizes nature, calmness, and authenticity.
Beige: a soft warm beige, reflects the tones of local wood, traditional crafts, and sunlit landscapes, adding a touch of elegance and warmth to the identity.

Final Symbol & Brand Color Expansion

Building upon the initial concept — a fusion of the letter Z (from Zbor) and a stylized pine tree, symbolizing Zlatibor’s nature, freedom, and clean mountain air — we arrived at a distinctive visual emblem that encapsulates the essence of the event.
To enhance the flexibility and visibility of the brand across different materials and settings, we expanded the original two-color palette by introducing three additional brand colors. Each new tone complements the core identity and brings added richness to the visual system:

Muted Clay
A soft, grounding neutral that provides visual contrast and balance.
Deep Purple
Evokes elegance and cultural depth, suitable for evening and premium applications.
Warm Ochre
Adds a rustic, autumnal warmth reminiscent of local grains and heritage.

Co-Branding Solution: Organizers' Signature

As the event was co-organized by Slow Food and the Tourism Organization of Western Serbia, I created a unified co-branded signature that merges both logos while maintaining their identities. This visual solution highlights their equal partnership and was used consistently across key materials — reinforcing the event’s foundation in authenticity, sustainability, and local heritage.

Event Invitation Design

As part of the event’s communication strategy, we designed an informative and visually engaging invitation flyer that encapsulates the essence of GastroZBor — a celebration of authentic food, tradition, and the spirit of Western Serbia.
This flyer was used in both digital and print formats — distributed through local partners, tourism offices, and online campaigns.
